I released The Thread of Liberty: Keeping Our Republic on the Fourth of July, as America marked its 250th birthday. I wanted to examine the ideas that shaped the founding and the responsibility each generation inherits with them.
Now, we’ve made the film available through Amazon for rent or purchase.
I’m joined by eleven historians and constitutional scholars, including Victor Davis Hanson, Larry Arnn, Wilfred McClay, Paul Rahe, and Roger Kimball. We discuss the achievements of the constitutional framework, the nation’s failures, and the work of preserving self-government.
Franklin’s familiar challenge, “A republic, if you can keep it,” runs throughout the film.
It’s the perfect film to celebrate the 250th anniversary, and we need to keep the messages of liberty at the forefront of our society’s mind, rather than letting it fade away within months of our 250th Independence Day.
Can we purchase it in DVD??
