Last week’s bombshell claim—that Christopher Wray and Attorney General Garland signed off on the FBI’s surveillance of GOP senators because any probe touching elected officials must be approved as a Sensitive Investigative Matter (SIM)—should shock every defender of constitutional government.
Until and unless the entirety of the US Intelligence apparatus gets the curtain fully drawn back on its illegal activities, and undergoes a complete and thorough overhaul, brought to heel, and subjected to the strictest imaginable limitations of Constitutional boundaries, with the most severe of consequences attached for breaching said limitations - even limitations which may appear to make us more vulnerable as a nation, but are necessary to protect the rights and freedoms of the citizenry - the all too human tendency toward acquiring greater powers by those in such positions to abuse it , will continue apace.
